How to Buy on iTunes

iTunes is Apple’s digital showcase in which all owners of devices such as iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, but also those who simply installed a copy of the iTunes program on their computer, can buy music (whole albums or single tracks ), movies, books and applications at very affordable prices.

It is a real virtual shop frequented by millions of people every day. It is very simple to use, but before you can make purchases, you need to get a credit card (or a rechargeable credit card) and create an Apple ID to be associated with their users. Let’s find out how to do it and how to buy it on iTunes in detail.

If you are using a Mac, you will find iTunes pre-installed on your computer, and if you use Windows to purchase iTunes, you must first download and install the program manually. Then connect to the Apple website and click on the download button to download iTunes on your PC.

Download is complete open, double clicking on it, the file you just downloaded (eg. iTunes64Setup.exe) and, in the window that opens, click first on Run and then on Next, Install, Yes, End and Yes to complete the installation process of iTunes and restart the PC.

From now on, the procedure to follow is valid for both Windows and Mac. Launch iTunes and click the Accept button to display the main program screen. Then select the item related to the iTunes Store from the left sidebar and click on the Login button (located at the top right) and then on Create Apple ID to start creating a new Apple account through which to buy on iTunes.

In the screen that opens, click on the Continue button, accept the terms of use of iTunes by putting the check mark next to the item I read and accept these terms and conditions and click on the Accept button to start the procedure to subscribe to the service. At this point, fill out the form that is proposed to you with your data (email, password, date of birth, etc.) and click once again on Continue to enter the credit card details / prepaid card you want to use to make purchases on iTunes.

Once the procedure is complete, click on Continue and Finish to complete the creation of the account and confirm your use by clicking on the link in the email received from Apple. Finally, log in to iTunes with the login information you have chosen, and you’re done.

Here we are. Now you can finally find out how to buy on iTunes. Then log in to the iTunes Store by clicking on the appropriate link in the iTunes sidebar and select from the black bar at the top the type of content you want to buy by clicking on Music, Movies, Books or App Store (for iPhone, iPad and iPod).

Now, browse or search using the appropriate bar at the top right of the item you want to download (eg a music album, a movie, an application, etc.) and click on its preview to view its details. At this point, you just have to click on the button with the price of the object (located on the left) and confirm the purchase by clicking on Buy.

The download of the selected item will start automatically, and you will be charged for the credit card / prepaid card that you indicated when registering with iTunes. Remember that for movies, there is also the option of the rental that costs much less than the purchase but allows you to view the films only for a limited period of time.

If you purchase applications for iPad, iPhone or iPod from your PC, they will be copied to the destination device as soon as you connect the device to your computer and sync with iTunes. To reproduce the contents purchased on the iTunes Store, it is also necessary to authorize the computer on iTunes by following the procedure described above in one of my guides.

Once you’ve created your Apple ID, you’ll be able to buy apps, music, movies and books from iOS devices like iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Just log in with your Apple account in the iTunes app (or during the procedure to activate iPhone, iPad, etc.) and follow the directives seen for the computer.

All applications and multimedia content purchased on iTunes, once purchased can be redeemed for free in case of cancellation from the computer or from the device on which they were copied. For each purchase, after one or two working days, you will also receive an invoice by email.
